Nos confitures de légumes au salon de l’agriculture

Our vegetable jams at the agricultural show

From February 24 to March 3, 2024, the 100th edition of the agricultural show took place in Paris.

The Salon de l'Agriculture is one of the most important events of the year for the agricultural sector in France. Every year, it attracts thousands of visitors, from farmers to curious citizens to political leaders. This event offers a unique platform to highlight French agricultural know-how, promote local products and raise public awareness of the challenges of modern agriculture.

The show presents a wide diversity of agricultural sectors, ranging from livestock and cereal cultivation to viticulture and agri-food. Visitors have the opportunity to discover the different facets of French agriculture through exhibitions, demonstrations, tastings and competitions.

Beyond its economic dimension, the Salon de l'Agriculture is also a showcase of the cultural and gastronomic richness of France. It highlights the diversity of terroirs and culinary traditions across the country. Many regions are represented there, offering visitors the opportunity to discover and taste a multitude of regional products, from cheeses to wines, cold meats and jams...

1st day at the agricultural show

On February 24, we were invited by the Alsace Chamber of Agriculture to present our vegetable jams at the show. It was the first day of the event and demonstrations and intrusions into the show disrupted access to the Versailles Exhibition Center in Paris. We finally arrived at our stand a good hour late. This has not at all impacted the good atmosphere that reigns within the show nor the number of visitors. Within the Alsace region sector, invited by the Alsace Chamber of Agriculture, several brands were represented, including Poline. A high table was reserved for us to display our vegetable jams and to be able to have them tasted by the public.

We had with us:

We also brought our fruit jams without offering them for tasting.

It is always a pleasure to let you taste our vegetable jams. There are people who it calls to mind and reminds them of the jams of their childhood. And there are the most skeptical who end up looking at us with a big smile and amazed eyes. Before tasting vegetable jams, it is difficult to imagine what they taste like. But one thing is certain: to taste them is to adopt them!

In order to attract people, we had a roll-up highlighting our slogan: “the flavors of our grandmothers brought up to date” and logos arguing our quality: organic, 100% natural, made in France AND up to 40% less sweet than traditional jam.

We also had a wheel of fortune inspired game to win up to your waist in jams!!

Anecdote told by Marion:

The day passes and goes well. Margo thinks she recognized Poopi, an influencer, walking and heading away from our booth. Without paying attention to the “I'm not sure it's her”, I rush to find her and discover that it was really her. I love it ! I've been watching all of his content for years. Plus, her name is Pauline and she comes from Alsace! So I invite him to come and taste our vegetable jams. Poopi was lovely and really enjoyed our products. We even ended up in his YouTube video seen by tens of thousands of people! Quite a meeting.

2nd day at the agricultural show

On March 1st, we returned to the agricultural show and this time invited by the Lot-et-Garonne department. You are probably wondering why? Well because it is this department which hosts the world jam championship in Beaupuy every year. The layout of the stand was different than in Alsace. It was like a central island in which several players from the region presented their products. We had the public taste our vegetable jams and restarted the game of fortune to win up to their size in jams, but that was not the primary goal of this day...

It was the occasion for the presentation of the world jam championship cups!

And it's not one, but two cups that we received.

  • 1 for having reached first place in the general ranking of jam makers
  • 1 for having made the best jam in the traditional category

So it was 6 months after the victory and the pride is even more present. This price has been incredible in the Poline adventure. It helped us to highlight our work and to democratize vegetable jams.

2 former champions were also present: Patrick Fouquet and Annie Vaffier-Fowler , respectively 2018 world champion and vice-champion.

It was a pleasure to interact with them and discover their creations.

Conclusion

In summary, the Polines were invited twice to the 100th edition of the Salon de l'Agriculture in Paris.

The first day with a well-appointed stand just for us to offer visitors the opportunity to taste a variety of vegetable jams, arousing both the interest of the curious and the admiration of connoisseurs.

On the second day, invited by the Lot-et-Garonne department, the Polines participated in the presentation of the world jam championship cups to leave with two of them. This recognition not only reinforced the pride of the team, but also helped to highlight the work accomplished in the field of vegetable jams.

This special edition of the Salon de l'Agriculture was marked by unexpected encounters, such as that with the influencer Poopi, who shared her appreciation for our vegetable jams with her many subscribers on social networks. Also, the presence of former world jam champions offered the opportunity to exchange and discover new perspectives in the field of artisanal jam.

In summary, the Salon de l'Agriculture was once again an unmissable event to celebrate the richness and diversity of French agriculture, while offering participants the opportunity to share their passion and expertise with a ever-increasing and enthusiastic audience.
